Team USA Is Coming To Kick Your Ass
I can firmly say that Team USA is back and ready to dominate the competition. The last collection of talent had potential, but were a far cry from our usual bunch of superstars. That group was the 2019 FIBA World Cup roster.
Unfortunately, the last time the world saw us play, we bowed out embarrassingly by a score of 80–63 to Argentina. They did finish with a win, 78–70 against Uruguay, though.
This new pool of 12 players is headlined by Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard. I don’t need to say anything more. ESPN’s Marc Stein reported the roster:
We are ready to get the gold!
It’s the only time of the year where you will see NBA fans merge together like Dipset Voltron.
From my vantage point, there aren’t any snubs, to be honest. They’ve built a team that can tap into all facets of the game. They can play all scorers. They can build a lineup of lockdown defenders. When they want to have some fun, they can go extra big with size and length at every position.
Given the last year we have had, it’s encouraging to see the stars come out for their country. At a time when they didn’t have to, they found pride and competitiveness. It’s even more of a bump to see the veteran superstars take a bid. For a brief moment, Team USA was back in the gutter (s/o to the 2003 Bronze team!), but now we are heading back to the mountaintop.
Let’s go and get that gold, fellas!
